ThermaSmart® Marine 4.0 – A Smarter, Safer Step Forward
Thermaflex is proud to introduce ThermaSmart® Marine 4.0, the next-generation upgrade to our trusted ThermaSmart® Marine 2.0 Black solution. Officially available from 1st August, this new iteration sets a higher standard in performance, sustainability, and ease of installation for marine insulation.
Built for a More Sustainable Future
Sustainability has been placed at the core of this upgrade. ThermaSmart® Marine 4.0 is:
- Free from halogens and harmful substances, including PFAS, ATO, PVC, SCCP, and MCCP,
- Resistant to fungal growth, supporting better hygiene and air quality,
- Features IMO 2010 FTP Code Annex 1 Part 5 fire classification and produces less, non-toxic smoke in the case of fire, consequently protecting passengers, crew, and critical onboard systems,
- Highly durable, contributing to long-term energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact,
- Easier to install, thanks to improved flexibility and with a glueless system option that simplifies application and reduces adhesive usage.
Compared to its predecessor, the product is MED-certified by Lloyd’s Register, ensuring full compliance with international maritime regulations.
Updated Packaging and Article Codes
To streamline logistics and storage, all ThermaSmart® Marine 4.0 product variants will now be supplied in a medium roll format, replacing the previous small and large rolls. Additionally, all versions of ThermaSmart® Marine 4.0 will carry new article codes to reflect these updates.

This release introduces an innovative solution for modern marine insulation needs. With enhanced performance, safer materials, and simplified installation, ThermaSmart® Marine 4.0 is ready to support the next generation of sustainable, efficient vessels.
Any leakage in the ventilation duct can result in the escape of air, but also of sound. The critical parts of a ventilation duct for leakage are the connections. Due to differences in heat and cold between the air in the duct and that of the surrounding space, there is slack on the connections. So: choose flexible connections that continue to close well, even when the ducts move.
Thermaflex’ TQ-Air connections are made of rubber, which makes them easy to install and prevents the ventilation duct from leaking.
