Practical workshop for future sanitary engineering in Łódź

This workshop session was led by Thermaflex specialist Ryszard Sajnóg who combined theory with live demonstrations and practical exercises, giving students direct exposure to modern insulation solutions used in heating, cooling and sanitary systems.

The programme introduced students to insulation solutions designed for energy efficiency and responsible use of natural resources.

During the theoretical part, students learnt about:

• The role of insulation in reducing energy loss in building services,
• Key properties of thermoplastic insulation materials,
• Typical applications in heating, cooling, domestic hot water, chilled water and sanitary systems.

The content was aligned with real installation challenges that future technicians will face on-site, rather than abstract product theory.

A key part of the session focused on directly extruded, high‑performance thermoplastic polyolefin and polyethylene foam insulation used in building services installations.

The presentation covered:

• Material properties and structure
• Typical system applications, including hot and cold-water distribution, heating and air‑conditioning
• Practical considerations when selecting insulation for different operating conditions

All technical explanations were kept clear and accessible, supporting students who are still at the early stages of their professional training.

The second part of the training was delivered as practical workshop sessions. Students actively participated in:

• Making insulation fittings
• Working with insulation components commonly used on-site
• Applying welding techniques used when installing insulation systems

This hands-on element allowed students to extend their standard training programme and gain experience that is difficult to achieve through classroom learning alone.

The practical exercises helped students better understand installation accuracy, workmanship requirements and the importance of correct insulation execution in real systems.

Throughout the training, students showed strong interest and engagement. They asked a lot of questions and our expert provided clear and detailed answers.

This open exchange helped connect theoretical knowledge with practical application and gave students insight into everyday challenges faced by installers and engineers working with insulation systems.
