District heating done right.  Some people see district heating as a heat distribution system with a high up-front investment and an extended payback. Thermaflex sees it differently. We see its advantages and can share them with you. We begin where the biggest gains in efficiency are. We first locate the best options for small start-up heating schemes. Then we install pre-fabricated local heating units such as container solutions or renewable heating units. Integrated into building design, this solution provides comfortable heating and plentiful domestic hot water. Group heating units have proven to be very efficient for several types of energy distribution, with the same high quality standards as conventional district heating solutions.

Group heating for group settings: Residences, schools and hospitals

Smaller village and urban communities have successfully applied this concept of group heating for retrofit and new building areas. In general, the need for energy is decreasing in new energy efficient houses. This transition is mostly due to changes in building regulations and demand for better insulation. Heating, hot water and cooling are still necessary and group heating is a smart way to connect to renewable energy in an efficient and cost friendly way.

A team with a winning energy solution

We work closely with all involved stakeholders to develop and market a reliable, sustainable group heating solution. These solutions provide minimal disturbance from installation, lower installation costs, maintenance free pipes and long term energy savings.

During the District Heating and Cooling Symposium 2010 in Tallinn Thermaflex presented 5 papers addressing the benefits of flexible pipe systems and tailored prefabricated solutions over the entire network lifetime, exemplified by the pre-insulated piping system Flexalen 600. Since that time Thermaflex achieved a global acceptance of the introduced solutions as they have been successfully implemented in numerous District Heating and Cooling network applications all over the world. This formed the basis for further developments since 2010. Production facilities have been up-scaled to meet an increasing demand and quality level. The cooperation of R&D with key stakeholders focused on responding to their challenges with new and improved solutions.

Awareness of the total costs of heating & cooling networks is rapidly increasing. Optimisation and smart designs offer more options and choices to important added value. Thermaflex focusses on minimizing “total cost of ownership” and maximizing the speed of implementation of these networks. A support program for innovative network design, available to all professional designers/engineers, offers the right solution/tool in combination with Flexalen network concepts.
