Strengthening Expertise in Plastic Welding: Training in Prague

Reading time: 2 minutes

Earlier this month, Thermaflex conducted a comprehensive technical training session on 3 and 5 June 2025 in Prague, hosted at the excellent facilities of Pražská plynárenská Servis distribuce, a.s. We were pleased to make use of their training space – especially as they’ve already had first-hand experience with our materials in previous applications.

This three-day training initiative was organised by our trusted local partner, PS&HS (Roman and David Novák), and focused on empowering both existing customers and prospective partners with deeper knowledge and hands-on skills in working with Flexalen® systems.

A Collaborative Learning Environment

The training was conducted by our specialists Tomasz Brachmański and Jelmar van Beek, who guided participants through both theoretical and practical modules. We welcomed a total of 14 participants from 6 different companies, each with prior experience in plastic welding.

While most attendees were first-time trainees, two participants returned for a refresher course, having previously joined a similar training session in our headquarters in Waalwijk three years ago. Their continued commitment to maintaining high-quality installation standards reflects the long-term value of these workshops.

Training Focus: Welding Quality & Best Practices

The programme was designed to ensure that installers are not only confident in handling our systems but are also trained to uphold the highest standards of quality and durability. The sessions included:

  1. Theoretical training on system design and installation best practices
  2. Hands-on workshops focused on:
  • PB electrofusion welding
  • Butt welding
  • Socket welding
  • Post-insulation of socket joints using PU foam

These techniques are essential for ensuring leak-tight, long-lasting connections in heating and cooling networks using Flexalen® pre-insulated pipe systems.

Certifications

At the end of the training, each participant received an official certificate, recognising their successful completion of the programme and their readiness to apply these techniques in future Flexalen® installations.

Investing in Excellence, Together

This training session marks another important step in our shared mission to deliver safe, sustainable and reliable thermal infrastructure across Europe. By continuously supporting our installation partners through targeted training, we ensure that every project built with Flexalen® is executed with precision, confidence and care.

We’d like to thank all participating companies for their commitment, and PS&HS for their impeccable organisation. Special thanks also to Pražská plynárenská Servis distribuce, a.s. for their hospitality and ongoing collaboration.

"We (PS&HS) had really good feedback from the companies of the participants. Some even ranked it one of the best trainings they had attended, mainly thanks to the practical part, where they could try the things, that were previously presented to them."
