In port city Rotterdam, BAM Bouw en Techniek has commenced construction of another landmark building on the banks of the Maas river; De Zalmhaven. Right in the historic Veerhaven area, close to the city center and the Erasmus bridge, the tallest residential Skyscraper of the Benelux will be erected. Alongside this skyscraper, two towers (70m), a parking garage and 33 mansions are part of this magnificent project, too. De Zalmhaven is a development of Zalmhaven CV, a joint venture between area and real estate developer AM and (area) developer and investment manager Amvest.
BAM Energy Systems, responsible for the energy infrastructure of the building, teamed up with Thermaflex for the district heating network. Due to the demanded lead time and available time on site, all pipework is supplied as project specific prefabrication, including Flexalinks and custom-made Building entry bends. The combination of specific prefabs and flexibility of the pipe allow for a quick deploy of the network and a lowest possible risk profile.
With a booming building sector and ever condenser timelines, the need for installation speed becomes ever more apparent.
