Waste-to-energy plant
In the Azores archipelago (Angra do Heroísmo, Terceira), João Pualino Lda and his team are today commissioning a district heating network fed by the local waste-to-energy plant and start benefiting from a readily available source of energy.
Islands by their very nature are conscious about their energy balance.
The project comprises a 1.600kW – 80 Deg C flow district heating network and offers a great example of sensible use of energy that would otherwise be regarded as “waste heat”.
