The Flexalen® 600 Heat Pump Connection Set (Short Length Package) is a compact, ready-to-install pre-insulated pipe set specifically for heat pump connections. It combines the performance of Flexalen® 600 HP with everything needed for a typical A‑to‑B connection in one box:
- Flexible PB‑1 service pipes with oxygen barrier
- Integrated conduit pipes for power and control cables
- High-performance closed-cell polyolefin foam insulation

How can I minimise excavation and disruption?
Flexible pre-insulated pipe requires a narrower trench than rigid systems, follows ground contours without extra fittings, and has a bending radius of just 0.5 to 0.6 m. In the Assentoft project (Denmark), the homeowner dug the trench by hand — excavation and laying took about 7.5 hours for an 18.5 m connection.
What insulation is required for outdoor heat pump pipes?
Exterior and underground pipework needs closed-cell, moisture-resistant insulation with a protective outer layer. Standard foam or rubber insulation is not suitable for permanent outdoor use. Pre-insulated piping integrates insulation and a sealed PE casing at the factory, ensuring consistent quality regardless of installer experience.
Does poor insulation really affect heat pump performance?
Yes. Inadequate pipe insulation can reduce a heat pump’s COP from over 4 to around 3, a 25% efficiency loss that translates directly into higher electricity bills and potential callbacks.
